a special Star player:Freddie freeman

With Hockey on summer break it's hard knowing who to pick for star player. So I decided to honor a Gwinnett Brave. Freddie Freeman is the 1st baseman for the Gwinnett Braves and is a total class act. I made a sign for him and hauled it to 3 games. At the 3rd game Freeman saw me at batting practice and came over saying "Ok so I saw you 3 times now We need a picture." So I handed my camera to another fan so she could snap a picture and he just wrapped his arm around me and actually thanked me for posing with him then he signed the poster. I was just so happy. After that I sat in my seat and I realized that I would be almost eye level with Freddie. When freddie 1st got to his spot he looks over and realizes I'm right there so he nods, then the whole rest of the game he'll look over and make sure I'm watching. I love the fact that he is talented and young because he'll have a very good and long career. So I really like this guy and think he has put up some good numbers! I love ya freddie and wish ya the best

News

Ok so we lost a couple of guys from the gladiators but got a fan favorite back. That's right we lost Matt Siddall and Chad Denny but gained Andy Brandt. Matt was called up last season but was traded for Andy this off season. Chad was released recently, I found out about it when I went to training camp. I actually liked both Chad and Matt, Matt especially. He just loved everyone remebering me and allowing me to pray with him one on one. So I'm pretty sad about this but the good thing about all of this is that we got Andy Brandt back. Andy was a Gladiator in the 2008-2009 season but was traded for Josh Johnson who has since been traded/released. I pretty excited to see Andy again. So Matt and Chad, I will miss you guys. Andy, I'm so excited to see you again! In other news Ondrej Pavelec has be re-signed by the Thrashers which I'm pretty happy about because I have been learning Czech so I'm pretty happy to test it out on him, hopefully I won't offend him. Ok y'all let's play hockey!!!

Paul Postma

Paul was one of the only guys I knew at prospect camp which was fine, it was also thanks to a friend up in Chicago that I knew of him. Paul seemed to enjoy it all and do very well. He has been at the camp for a few years, why the heck we haven't signed him to the thrashers--no clue! Paul was so cute but he's missing a tooth! Thankfully Paul wears a flipper that way we could still get some good pictures and see how cute he is! This 6 foot 3 190 pound sweetheart was born on Feberuary 22, 1989 in Red Deer Aleberta Canada. Paul palyed in the WHL (western hockey league) which is a Major junior league. While at the WHL he played with the swift current broncos (2004/2oo5 season-2007/2008 season) and the calgary hitman (2007/2008 season-2008/2009 season). Then in the 2009-2010 season he went to the chicago wolves. While at the swift current broncos he scored 7 goals and 28 assists during the all regular season play, 1 assists during the 2006-2007 post season and then while with the calgary hitman he scored 37 goals and 89 assists during both seasons, 11 goals and 12 assists during both post seasons. Last season he scored 15 goals 14 assists and 2 assist during the post season play. He is such a good kid and expect good things from him

The letter

To my boys,

OH what does one say when they have fallen in love with 2 or 3 teams and the sport they play? I love y'all and hockey. When y'all aren't here I miss y'all. I pray for you guys and there have been times when I cry praying for y'all. I never thought I could be this involved and happy with a sport. Y'all have brought me joy and to that I'm greatful. Through hockey (and y'all) I've met some amazing people. One day I may go off for school, the navy or for some other reason but my thoughts, prayers and heart will always be with you guys. If y'all need anything y'all let me know. People try to tell me to give up on you guys and leave y'all alone and I tell them to shut up and go away because y'all are my boys and I will ALWAYS take up for you!! Love y'all!

Star Player: Alex Burmistrov

Ok so he may just be our draft pick but I don't think this young man go to this moment by accident or just sheer luck. I believe this young man came here, to this moment, on talent and just a little luck. On July 8th he started prospect training camp. I went the 1st and 2nd day he is so sweet and cute. Alex takes everything in stride. Friday morning he fell on his back about colliding with the goalie so he put his feet over his head rollie pollies it over landing on his knees laughing like he did something so hysterical he couldn't wait to tell someone. This kid is so quick that I know he'll have promising future and he loves atlanta and wants to play somewhere in America. Saturday he was a beast at the scrimage game, smashing people into the wall just to get the puck. I love this kid and wish him well!

It is finished

Ok so Sunday night ended a house sitting job for me. I was was suppose to be done with it saturday night but there were flight problems and stuff so I was stuck there another night which was fine because my step dad was going to pick me up for church then my mom would drop me off again then I got to go see Michael Forney at prospect camp which I was totally excited about. When I got to the rink there wasn't as many people there as I thought there would be. I got into the rink I found some people to sit near and I started to look around as people were coming in and I was the only one of the Forney faithful there. I had been going since day one missing only sunday morning and tuesday evening and there were at least one other person there that Forney knew. SO as I sat there I noticed the boys were coming out so I went to the edge of the bleachers and I stuck my hand out for forns and he fist bumps me and winks. The 1st part was just practice then they came out for the 4 on 4 and I was still surprised that the forney faithful still weren't there. I was so glad I came at that point for Michael. So the game was going on as Normal and Forns scored a goal, at that point I was very happy that I was there! Forney is such a sweet amazing guy and I am so proud of him. At the end of the game I fist bump him and left. After going to the gym I packed up my stuff and head home. As I was putting my stuff in the car to head to my house I just felt sad. I don't know why I felt sad but I did. SO I got home finished some stuff on the computer and then crashed. Oh I was sooooooo tired then Tuesday I went back to see Michael and I was glad to see one forney faithful there. My friend Emily was waiting there and I could tell she was tired. I talked with one of the figure skating moms and Emily then went into the rink room and waited for Forney and Alex to come out. Forns came out and I told him Grams wasn't and I wouldn't be there that evening he smiles and says "Oh you're killing me!!!" I laughed then he looked at me and emily and said "Y'all miss me yesterday?" of course we did!! It's Forney, who wouldn't miss him? Then after forney was settled on to the ice Alex came out, "hey Alex!!" He looks at me and smiles "Hi! How are you?" I smiled, "I'm wonderful! how are you?" He has such a sweet quiet voice but I think he said "very good tired." He is so cute he threw away some gum and my friend Emily asked who that was. I told her it ws Alex and she couldn't even tell he was Russian. So practice goes on as normal then Mike comes off and he asks if I was coming that night when I said no he reaches out his arems and says "come here give me some!" SO I hug him not wanting to let go!! I miss him when he's not around but like he pointed out he'll be back in a month. Burmi came off and I said "Alex", when he looked I continued, "your english is really good!!" He laughs and says "THANKS!!" When Baby burmi was all in his little locker room I went to one of my other friends and watched part of the other group skate but then left to work out. I totally can't wait for hockey to get start, I'm just sad that I couldn't spend more time with michael

Come and get it Hockey

June 7th-11th I hung out and did what I could to help out at Dan Sullivan's hockey school called come and get it hockey. I loved it except for the getting up @ 5 or 6 in the morning. I mainly helped w/ luch and filling up cups w/ gatorade. I had such an awesome time seeing the boys again there were a few gladiators helping out. Phil youngclaus, Tom zanoski, and Danny Taylor were helping out as instructors and former Gladiator JC sawyer was also helping out. Monday was good, normal first day with the excitment and the hope that all will go well. There was a very welcomed guest in the morning, Chris Thorburn. He is awesome so sweet and funny, he use to go my gym. He didn't stay long but he's pretty cool. The kids had a blast, they also had lots to do. As the week drug on I got more tired and it seemed like I just got cranky and bored easily. Then Wednesday I got an amazing surprise! Zach Bogosian, Bogi, just showed up! I was so shocked and amazed that he was there! Amanda and I decided to go to the bench box to get pictures. The rest of the week went on as normal with a party friday. It seriously is one of the best things ever! Check it out!!

Michael Forney

I don't play favorites, or atleast I try not to, but if I did there wouldn't be a contest in that area. I adore Michael Forney, he is younger than I am but he is so mature and sweet. He is one of those people that is just so sweet and amazing that you feel honored to just to be in their presence. Michael Played for the Gladiators and Chicago last season. Also to the point of feeling honored to be around Michael, I also feel safe, welcomed, and appericaited around him. I can't explain it but he hugged me the 1st day of camp I couldn't stop smiling. It's like I felt like I needed there. Michael is just, wow. He's hysterical and so supportive of me. I told him I wanted to be in the navy and he never told me that I couldn't do it and he didn't even tell me that he was scared or worried for me. He understands that for his friends to succeed you have to love and support them no matter what. Michael is at the prospect training camp for the Thrashers, and I am sooo very proud of him. Although I talk a lot during the on ice practice I think it still means a lot to Michael that I'm there. He is very popular with the ladies, especially the younger ladies. At one point Michael told me he was praying for me, as a Christian that means a lot to me. Michael is a 6 foot 2 sweet heart born on May 14, 1988 (yeah 88!!) in theif river falls Minnisotta. Michael played 2 seasons at the university of North Dakota and 2 seasons in the juniors. I could only find stats for last season with the Gladiators. He scored 11 goals and 15 assists!! Michael has speed and strength and is so talented. He can juggle and play quarter back (why do I always end up liking the QB?). He has met Barack Obama. He also likes tropical places, playing guitar and golf! We talk as often as possible. I love this kid and he knows it he also knows that I wish him the best and pray for him always!!

My new love

While my boys were out of town I was falling head over heals in love with a Gwinnet brave. His name? Frederick Charles Freeman better known as Freddie Freeman the 1st baseman. This 20 year old won my heart pretty quickly. I went to 2 games and thought he was talented and cute so I looked him up. I found out that he was born in 1989, that makes him 3 years younger than me. Crazyness, I know but that didn't stop me from making him a sign. So I went to my 3rd game and just my luck he wasn't playing. I then got an idea I ran down to the dug out to show it to him, getting his attention was next to impossible but, and I don't know how, I got him to look at me. My sign was cute, he squinted to read it (he's so blind for a young baseball player) he then pumped his fist to chest then waved. I waved back and smiled I could tell that it meant a lot to him that I made the sign for him. The rest of the game whenever I looked at him, he waved and I of course waved back. Freeman is amazing, such a good kid!! He was born on September 12th, 1989 in Fountain Valley California. He's been in the minors since at least 2007 and has done pretty decent for himself. His current average is .286 and he has 10 homers and 47 RBIs so far this season. In 2008 he won 2 player of the weeks, baseball america high class a all-star, post season all star and mid season all star. With a thick full head of redish blonde hair, James Dean like looks and amazing talent this kid has a bright future and he probably will have a lot of girls following him. I'm one of the 1st of my friends to notice him but I'm sure I'm not the 1st girl to notice him while he was the minors. In fact, my mom noticed him at the 1st game I went to, he ran out on the feild and my mom said "Wow that guys' tall!!" I looked at the program and pointed out that he was 6-5, why is every guy in the world of sports so freakishly tall? It's very annoying when people who are younger than me are so much taller than me. I love this kid and I can't wait to see him again

Hello Klingy, Dustin Byfuglien, Ben Eager, Brent Soppel, Akem Ailu. and Burmi goodbye moose and Marty

I hate this!! We lost a fan favorite our swedish goalie, Johan "Moose" Hedberg. Moose was trade to new Jersey, the same team who got Ilya Kovalchuck and produced Olympic hero Zach Parise. I'm kinda torn about this because there were times were Moose impressed me and other times when I was left cursing moose for how bad he did. so yes I'll miss his personality but I don't know if I'll miss him in goal. So goodbye moose, we'll miss you and you'll always be a thrasher to us. In other news we signed Carl "Klingy" Klingberg and drafted Alex Burmistrov, both 19. I also found out that we lost Marty Reasoner to gain Akem Ailu, Brent Soppel, Ben Eager and Dustin Byfuglien. I'm going to have issues pronouncing names this season! I'm trying to get information on all of the boys we have signed this off season. I'm going to prospect camp which starts today (July 8th). I went to training camp last season but never prospect camp. I talked with Michael Forney who is going to be at the camp and I told him I was going to be there for him at camp, he seemed happy. I think these boys are relieved when they make friends and they show up to practice and see their friends at the rink. so Moose and Marty I'll miss y'all and to the new guys, welcome we're excited to see what y'all are made of!!

What do I think of all this maddness?

There has been a lot of signings, trades and the draft, so much so I probably missed one. I really don't mind it because hockey season has been done since April for the 2 Ga teams in the ministry and somewhere around May the Chicago wolves were knocked out of the playoffs so I just needed something related to my boys to keep entertained, it's like getting a fix. Yeah it's sad that we're loosing a lot of good guys but the way I see it is that we're gaining a lot of new people so we can mold the team into being really awesome. I've been trying to keep busy in between seasons by writting blogs, helping at the Come and get it hockey camp and going to Gwinnett Braves games to torture Freddie freeman. So I won't completely dwell on who we are losing which is good! so enjoy the maddness

Public enemies

Thrasher fans have "public enemies" (guys who a lot of thrasher fans hate), I think a lot of sports teams and their fans do. Here's some of ours:

1. Alexander Ovechkin- Mr. Russia defense man for the capitals and for team Russia He is just so cockey. I went to an NHL game and saw no reason for him to be cockey. I know he is talented and yadda yadda yadda but there is something about this guy that erks me!! I really do wanna like this guy but there is something that erks me. One thing that saves him is that he looks like a hockey player, ugly mug and a missing tooth. Another thing that really makes me not wanna hate his guts is that he had a beef with Sidney crosby. Sidney and Ovie can't stand each other, they always end up hitting each other or getting in some kind of scuffle. The last reason I really just don't wanna hate this guy is because he is very talented. He played for Russia in the 2010 olympics (and possibly other Competions). SO hopefully we can beat this guy.

2. Sidney Crosby-Gold medal winner for canada and D-man for the Penguins Ok so I'm such a trader this guy has started to win me over, especially after I saw this picture of him and the stanely cup. Don't ask me why or how this happened but it happened! The Reason why Thrasher fans hate Sid is because sometimes he seems cocky. Face it, how does it look when your star has a hissy fit anytime anyone touches him? Sidney does have his moments of sheer divaness! That's why I didn't like him he just thought he was it! But darn it he's won me over!

3.Matt Cooke- Penguin I HATE this guy he plowed into my buddy Zach Bogosian twice in the 2008-2009 season seriously hurting Zach's leg. That is the main reason I don't like him. He got what he deserved this past season when Evander Kane punched Matt. See what happened was that Matt hit Kaner into the boards so Kaner grabbed Matt's jersey and punched matt. Matt was out cold!!! Mat ended up being fine. I just don't like a guy who hits everyone else but can't take it.

ANother good thing about summer:Michael phelps!

Even though I think Michael Phelps is a little too perfect he is still one of the best swimmers ever and one of the most decorated. I started to read a book about Michael that he wrote himself with Brian Cazeneuve. In it Bob Costas wrote a forward in which he describes a time when he walked into a back room at some Olympic event in New york and Michael was finishing off a piece of pizza, nothing too strange until he asks Michael if he just ate that whole pizza by himself to which Michael smiles and says yes! I could not imagine eating a whole pizza by myself, maybe a personal pan pizza. Then in the 1st chapter Michael describes the athens olympics. He mainly talked about one training session where coach Bob turned into Herb Brooks making Mike swim a kicking drill until he was happy with the way Mike swam. Phelps also descibes how the day of the first race went, how he fussed at coach Bob while getting on to the bus and how he went to the fence by the cool down pool to show his mom and sisters his medal and to hug and kiss them. Michael's mom raised him by herself from the time Mike was 7. Phelps is a year older than me and we were both pretty much raised by our moms. He describes a moment when he got really sick on Christmas when was little, it ended up being a viral infection that almost ended his life. There were many other indicadents which according to him is ok because he is "incident prone". If you can believe this, he hated swimming, spefically getting his face wet, when he was little. Yes I'm making my get away from the "We love Michael" pack but I still sometimes like whatch him swim. With 14 olympic medals and countless others from world championships and other competetions he is by far one of the best swimmers ever. I wish him like in all he does

Come and Get it Hockey

I love sulli and this is his camp I got to hang out and help doing what ever came up

Coach

I think Coach is one of the best coaches ever

A special star player: Joey Crabb

Even though Joey just released I wanted to honor Joey because he is one of the sweetest and hardest working people ever!! He really takes care of kids and other fans. This past season Joey played with the Chicago Wolves who went to the Chadler cup. But this was after he came to Duluth for the Thrashers training camp. Joey was so sweet to me at camp. It's always good when athletes are sweet to fans, especially when it's genuine. Joey is genuine, no faking here!! Joey scored 24 goals 29 assists this past season w/ the wolves in the regular season. In the post season he scored 6 goals and 5 assists. He is awesome and I wish him the best with his new team.

why I don't mind summer: Ryan Lochte

I was a swimmer in high school, I know big shocker, so now when there's a swim meet on TV or the summer olympics are on I'm glued to the TV for a few reasons including a few of the swimmers. I started off just liking Michael Phelps but then a few other swimmers caught my eye. I started to really have an interest in Ryan Lochte, none of my friends really knew much about him so it was kinda cool having an athlete who was just mine. Ryan "Reezy" Lochte is one of those boys you think you couldn't bring around your mom or grandma but you would to love hang out with. He is also a model with ford modeling agency. The reason I think I like Reezy so much is that while he is almost as popular or as popular as Michael Phelps he has less bad press and I'm kinda tired of Michael Phelps, it's like if Michael swims he wins with Reezy chances are he'll win but you never know. Plus he seems pretty cool and did I mention the hair?? I LOVE his hair!!! It's all crazy and curly, especially when he takes his swim cap off. I wish I could play with his hair, I think it would be fun! Reezy is awesome, though there is one problem with him....... he swam for the university of Florida, that's right the gators!!! I won't hold his college against him, if I could be friends with a Georgia Tech Grad I can root for a gator!! In the 2008 Olympics he won 1 individual gold, 1 relay gold and 2 individual bronze. At the 2009 world championships Reezy won 4 golds (2 individual, 2 relay) and 1 individual bronze. At the worlds Reezy also beat michael's time in the 200 meter IM, which at 2009 worlds michael didn't swim that event he was suppose to but didn't. With being a model and a swimmer he gets a lot of attention, especially since his relay teams ussually consist of Phelps, which lead to him being cougar bait! He was featured on some web site/blog called confessions of a cougar!! Cougars are starting to get out of control!! Any way Ryan is really good and is improving, breaking his records at every compatetion!! I wish Ryan so much luck with everything he does and maybe one day he'll beat Michael!!
