My fall love

I don't talk much about my religion or football much on here but I love both, I really do. The reason I bring up both at the same time is because of one young man named Timothy Tebow. Timmy was the QB for the Florida gators born to missionary parents. Timmy now plays for the Broncos and I'm just happy he doesn't play for the gators anymore! So why a Georgia Bulldog fan will fall for a Florida Gator? Simple, the guy is cute, talented and sweet! He is such a good Christian guy! He has however gotten some slack for coming out and saying that he's waiting for marriage to lose his virginity. I give him so much credit and respect for saying it in such a public setting (SEC media day). He handled it so well! Timothy Richard Tebow was born on August 14, 1987 in Minla Philippines (his parents were missionaries at the time). His mom had a difficult pregnancy thinking she had lost Timmy many times and the doctors kept telling that Timmy could be still born so she may as well have an abortion. Of course being the Christian woman she is, she didn't have the abortion. Could you imagine having to choose and what would have happened had Ms. Pam had the abortion? My Cousin had a baby boy about a year ago and I couldn't imagine her having to make that same decision. Pam home Schooled all of her kids and in 1996 a Florida law was passed to allow home schooled kids to play sports with local high schoolers. So Timmy played linebacker and tight end at Trinity Christian academy for one season but he really wanted to play quarter. Trinity's game didn't rely on passing the ball so he decided to go else where, which ended up making Tim and his mom live in apartment while the rest of the family lived on the farm (they really did live a farm) just so Tim could play at Nease high School. One thought about the whole Tebow family living on the farm thing: why the heck do I pick the most country-fried quarter back to like? Any way back to Tim, controversy soon came up on the fact that he was a home schooled quarter back that got to choose where he went to play but I just think they were all mad that their kids weren't as talented or as good looking as Tebow! As a junior in high school he was named a top college prospect and the Florida's player of the year. He also got the player of the year award his senior year. Timmy was such a bad butt that he even finished a game on a broken leg! Timmy had a pretty amazing senior year not only did he lead his team to state but he earned all-state honors, named Florida's Mr. football and parade all American. At this point we can all see that Tim is going to go far so I'm wondering if this is the point that the doctors that wanted to abort him start sticking there feet into their mouths. After this great high school career he played with 77 other high schoolers in the Army's all-American bowl. He was also featured on ESPN's "face of sports" for being a top recruit prospect and his segment was called "the chosen one" and it talked about his missionary work and the controversy surrounding his high school career, it also talked about the college recruiting process. He was also featured in Sports illustrated "face in the crowd" issue and was listed on Florida's list of 33 best high school players in the past 100 years (also known as the FHSAA's all-century team). When it was time for our little Timmy to pick a college he didn't go straight for Florida, which is where is parents went and actually met, he considered many other schools including Alabama. He actually got pretty close to Alabama's coach, Mike Shula. We all know though that he decided to go to Florida but before going he had helped his dad in the Philippines. I want to go so bad on a mission trip. In 2007 he was featured on a special ESPN did on home schooled children who played sports and Tim even argued that he broke the stereo type of home schooled kids by being the 1st Heisman trophy winner who was home schooled. Alabama passed the Tim Tebow law that is similar to the Florida law that allowed Tebow to play high school ball. Kentucky's Tebow law is still pending. In 2006 Tebow Started his career at Florida during their blue and orange schrimage. Chris Leak ended up being the starting quarter back but Tebow made his debut against Ole Miss. Tebow had such a unique relationship with his coach that he even took his coach, Urban Myers on some mission trips with him. It was also said that through out his career that there would be times that he would go up to coach Myers and tell him to calm down and just breath. In 2007 he was named break out player of the year for college football by Sporting news. He was the starting quarteback in the 2007 season. Timmy officially got his heisman on December 8, 2007. In 2008 he broke Emmitt Smith's record for yards rushing at Florida. They went on to win the 2008 SEC division title, the SEC championship and the BCS National Championship. Tebow was on the September 2008 cover of men's fitness magazine. He also won the Maxwell Award in 2008. In 2009 he decided not to go into the NFL draft but to go on to do his senior year in college. The 2 of the most heartbreaking sights came that year #1, Tebow getting a concussion and #2 Tebow crying after he lost the Championship to Bama! He went on to go into the draft going to the Broncos. Also this past superbowl Tim and his mother pam caused controsversy with their ad that was about their story on abortion. The ad was well done and did not mention abortion! People are stupid. There was also a rule that came out after Tebow graduated saying that all NCAA athletes could not write messages in eye black like Tebow did with the bible verses. Tebow is such a sweet and amazing guy and I wish him the best!
